Natural Resources and Natural Elements

Solar energy

¿What is Renewable Energy?

Renewable Energy is energy that is generated from resources that are not exhausted by their utilization, like solar energy, wind energy and geothermal energy.

  • Renewable Natural Resources
  • Non-renewable Natural Resources
  • Biotic Natural Resources
  • Abiotic Natural Resources

  • Actual Natural Resources

Natural resources are those elements provided by nature without human intervention and which can be exploited by mankind to satisfy certain needs.

Wind is a natural perpetual resource

What are Perpetual Resources?

Perpetual resources are renewable resources that cannot be exhausted, regardless of their rate of use. Perpetual resources are natural resources, because they are provided by nature without human intervention. But not all natural resources are perpetual resources: some natural resources can cease to be renewable if used in excess or unsustainably.

Examples of perpetual resources

- Wind.
- Solar energy.
- Waves and Tides.
- Geothermal Energy.

Renewable Resources are those resources that are not exhausted by their utilization. They return to their original state or are regenerated quicker than they are decreased by its use.

Resources are those capacities and elements (both natural and man-made) that can be used to produce goods or services, or that have an intrinsic value without the need to be modified, and are scarce in relation to the current or potential demand.
